From Captain Gray's maiden voyage into Tillamook Bay in 1766 through to the present day, the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum chronicles the area's rich natural and human history. With more than 35,000 items in its collection and more than 10,000 photos, it has presented such exhibits as "Living Waters of Tillamook Bay," and "New Harness Shop," a beautifully conceived recreation of a leather harness shop from the early 20th century. The museum lies on the north side of town, two miles south of the Tillamook Cheese Factory and its popular tours and dairy products.
Open Tue. - Sat. 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Sun. 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
